CHEM 2323 - Organic Chemistry I

Credits: 3
Introduction to the chemistry of carbon compounds. Topics covered include bonding theory, acid/base theory, nucleophilic substitution and elimination, stereochemistry, spectroscopic methods (IR, NMR), electrophilic addition, epoxides, Grignard Reaction, hydroboration/oxidation, and free radical reactions. chemical nomenclature of organic compounds is included.

Prerequisite: CHEM 1312 .
Co-requisite: CHEM 2123
